Tyler AllairCreative Dir./Project Mgr. | ADV. COMM
Creative Director/Project Manager
An award-winning graduate of Creative Advertising Communications from the Media Studies Department of Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology, Tyler’s 17-year career in advertising design and development had modest beginnings. Starting as an agency production assistant at the age of 21, Tyler’s early career presented him with a range of what he calls: “wax on – wax off” experiences. Tyler will be the first to tell you that his irrational optimism of getting hired on by the likes of Leo Burnett for 250K per year was quickly sacked by the whole “experience” prerequisite, so experience is what he sought.
Tyler attributes a great deal of his development to the opportunity to train under professional creatives and art directors (and one loud chartered accountant). It is this experience and mentoring which led to the opportunity to eventually work on projects and design for a broad range of national and international marketing and advertising initiatives, which include campaigns for such accounts as Domino’s Pizza, Ford, and Bell Canada.
Eventually, becoming disenchanted by working for ‘talking heads’, Tyler launched out on his own to create The Allair Media Group with a second company, Allair Media Inc., being formed shortly thereafter with longtime friend and colleague Al Hicks.
Tyler’s work has evolved alongside media industry and now is split between online systems’ design and development and campaign development and design/development for traditional media forms.
An Advertising Designer by trade, Tyler prides himself on being exceptionally well versed on campaign and project execution, and he holds a firm belief in the power of creativity in selling ideas and products.
